Eating Disorder, Binge Eating Disorder, Executive Functions, Attention, Impulsivity.
The Binge Eating Disorder affects a significant portion of the world population, becoming increasingly relevant from the scientific point of view and increasing research on the subject of eating disorders. It is known that the etiology of these disorders is multifactorial and complex, therefore, studies about associations, precipitating, predisposing and maintaining factors are important contributions. The present study aims to investigate the relationship of attentional and executive aspects with binge eating, seeking to analyze their neuropsychological profile. Obtaining knowledge to intervene more effectively in the treatment and monitoring of individuals who fit the disorder. The research will use the following instruments: Anamnesis, Barkley Scale of Deficits in Executive Functioning- BDEFS, Barratt Impulsivity Scale- BIS, Eating Compulsion Scale- BES, On-line Attention Tests- AOL, Five Digit Test-FDT. The sample was divided into severe and non-severe, considering the severity of the binge eating disorder of each participant, based on the results of the BES scale. The influence of each aspect was analyzed using the instruments in each sample, indicating a significant correlation between severity and deficits in self-regulation/self-control, general impulsivity, and attentional impulsivity.
