Quilombos : identifying psychosocial aspects in Brazilian society

Social Representations, quilombos, prejudice.

This project aims to identify social representations of quilombos and quilombolas in Brazilians divided into two groups, namely: group 1 – participants with complete and incomplete higher education; group 2 – participants with basic education (primary or high school). Faced with such an important and relevant topic for understanding the identity of the Brazilian people and society's relations with the black population, it is necessary to analyze and compare these contexts and their vicissitudes in social groups and in the circulating media. In particular, the narratives that help feed the socially shared discourse of social groups. It is equally relevant to understand the possibility of relationships between social representations and the discourses that involve quilombola communities, as well as their consequences in social practices. And, in this way, trying to understand where the racist narrative so widely spread comes from, as well as what social representations of Quilombo and quilombolas are present today.
