SUMMARY:

In early childhood, a child undergoes periods of intense changes, and their network of contact with the external world plays a significant role in their development, influenced by both environmental and maturational factors. The family is the first mediator between the child and society. Building on the concepts of parental educational social skills, this study aims to investigate parental relationships and the socioemotional development of children aged 36 to 72 months through the accounts of their caregivers. For the research, the following instruments will be used: the Brazil Economic Classification Criterion (CCEB) to gather sociodemographic variables of the individuals participating in the study, the socioemotional domain questionnaire from the Dimensional Inventory for Child Development Assessment (IDADI) to gather data on socioemotional child development, and the Parental Educational Social Skills Interview Guide (RE-HSE-P). Finally, it is expected that the research results will provide insights on how to make knowledge about childhood socioemotional skills accessible to families and educational institutions, as well as raise awareness about the importance of a family interaction that fosters a secure environment for the child's development.
