SUMMARY:

This research project aims to understand what health managers do in primary care through their health management work and their interaction with other workers in the context of a municipality in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro. To this end, we seek to carry out a literature review, documentary and exploratory field research with managers of basic health units in order to investigate, in their conception, how the interaction between managers and other workers takes place and whether this relationship aims to promote health in the environment and work context. The relevance of discussing this topic lies in the need to debate the growing precariousness of health work, as found in the literature. It is expected to achieve results that contribute to understanding the scenario and contribute to the construction of management practices that value these workers, as recommended by the laws that provide the basis and shape of the Unified Health System (SUS)
