SUMMARY:

The Family Health teams address various complex psychosocial aspects in the territories, including aspects related to the religiosity/spirituality of users. Consequently, the role of Community Health Agents (CHAs) can become even more challenging due to the presence of these factors in their daily care routines within Primary Care. This research aims to investigate how CHAs perceive and handle expressions of religiosity/spirituality among users in their work practices in the context of primary care. To this end, two focus groups will be developed with CHAs working in a city in the state of Rio de Janeiro, based on a pre-prepared script with guiding questions and the prior individual application of a questionnaire to collect their sociodemographic and professional data. Verbal interactions will be audio-recorded, fully transcribed, categorized according to Bardin's Content Analysis, and analyzed in light of the literature and Jung's Analytic Theory. The field of investigation concerning the relationship between religiosity/spirituality and health is relevant, promising, and has the potential to enhance the comprehensiveness and humanization of health services, in line with a biopsychosocial-spiritual perspective.
