Racism manifests itself not only through explicit attitudes, but also through implicit and automatic processes that influence perceptions, judgments, and social behaviors. In the Brazilian context, marked by historically constructed racial inequalities, it becomes relevant to investigate the implicit associations related to the Black population. In this sense, the present research aims to measure the magnitude and direction of implicit associations between Black people and attributes of positive and negative valence in university students, as well as to analyze differences in implicit bias scores as a function of sociodemographic variables. This is a quasi-experimental, in-person study conducted with students from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro, Três Rios campus. The Implicit Association Test (IAT), widely used in measuring automatic associations between social categories and evaluative attributes, will be used as a data collection instrument. The analysis will be conducted based on the participants' reaction times, allowing for the calculation of the D-score and the comparison between congruent and incongruent associations. The aim is to identify the presence of implicit racial biases, as well as to contribute to the advancement of discussions on social cognition, racial prejudice, and the use of the Implicit Association Test in the Brazilian context.
