THE LISTENING OF THE BODY A MEETING BETWEEN CONTEMPORARY DANCE, PHILOSOPHY AND PSYCHOLOGYTechinique, workshop, body, style, subjetcivity
This research project deals with a transversal investigation of the deepening of the bodymind relationship in the encounter between contemporary dance, psychology and philosophy, which configures an ontological-geological practice of knowledge. The main question is to understand how the process of subjectification takes place in dance and how to produce style in existence. It is assumed that listening to the body in improvisation would trigger stylization processes or singular ways of existing. The method comprises an autoethnographic, somatic-performative and analytical-poetic cartography of contemporary dance workshops and studies in philosophy conducted by the researcher-dancer. The general objective is to listen to the body based on the dialogue between psychology, philosophy and dance. The specific objectives are: conduct collective experiences of improvisation in dance, map body practices in contemporary dance to create stylized subjectivation processes and collaborate with studies on the body from an interdisciplinary reading. The conceptual maps ofa virtual philosophy are initially defined, conceiving what would be understood by a psychology of the body and it goes through historiography from the practices of the self in Foucault to think of a technology of stylistic production as conceived by Deleuze. Such practices and theories are linked to the studies in Philosophy of Dance and to the corporal practices and research of the Contemporary Dance workshops held at the Art and Culture Center of the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro, composed of students from the University and residents of Seropédica, Rio de Janeiro, throughout 2019
