SUMMARY:

Executive Functions can be defined as a set of skills that integrate and allow the individual to direct behaviors to achieve goals, replace ineffective strategies with more efficient ones, assess the adequacy and efficiency of these behaviors, and thus, solve immediate, medium problems. and long term. The stages in the development of executive functions are related to decision-making made with autonomy and to managing and reflecting behaviors through social interactions. This study seeks to investigate whether parenting styles influence the development of executive functions in children in early childhood. The way in which family interactions favor or hinder this development, identifying the types of parenting styles performed by the family and observing whether the families perform practices to stimulate the executive functions with the children. Children between four and six years old and their respective caregivers will participate in this research. Data collection will be done in person through a sociodemographic questionnaire, scales on parental relationships and validated instruments that investigate the development of executive functions. It is hoped that this study will obtain more information about executive development and parenting styles. In this way, the findings may contribute to the deepening of the theme in the field of neuropsychology.
