EVALUATION OF SYMPTOMS OF DEPRESSION AND POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS AMONG BURNS VICTIMS

Knowing that burn injury is a potentially traumatic event which generates countless consequences, affecting all 

dimensions of a person, it becomes of great importance to investigate the symptoms of depression and post-traumatic

stress disorder. There is a lack of researches that deal with the topic in a national context. The aim of the study is to

assess the prevalence of symptoms of depression and PTSD in people who have suffered bodily disfigurement as a

result of burn injuries.. The PHQ-9 will be used to assess depression and the PCL-5 to assess PTSD in people suffering

from the consequences of burn injury. To know the factors related to depression and PTSD after burn injury, increases

the possibilities of interventions by health professionals to mitigate the impacts and psychological implications in the

lives of those people.
