REY COMPLEX FIGURES: A STUDY OF EQUIVALENCE BETWEEN TRADITIONAL AND COMPUTERIZED APPLICATIONS
Psychological tests; Computerization; Technology; Psychometric; Neuropsychology.
The current stage of development in Neuropsychology presents a promising scenario for the integration of the field with Information Technologies (IT), especially concerning psychological tests. However, the existing literature is still permeated by debates about the equivalence of assessment instruments in their traditional and computerized versions. In this context, the present study, empirical in nature and with a quantitative approach, aims to test the equivalence between the traditional application and an alternative computerized version of the Rey-Osterrieth Complex Figure Test (ROCFT) in a population aged 18 to 28 years, with the use of a tablet. To align with the research methodologies commonly used in the field, the first study was guided by a systematic review focused on the state of the art regarding the equivalence between traditional and computerized versions of psychological instruments during the period from 2014 to 2023. The second study was initiated with a pilot for the validation of the alternative computerized version of the ROCFT by expert judges to refine the application before the main study. Subsequently, data will be collected from students at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro through the application of both versions of the instrument. Thus, the results of this study will reveal indicators of the equivalence in performance between the two versions of the ROCFT, as well as the main strengths and challenges of the computerized version. Furthermore, this project will contribute to understanding current trends in the informatization of instruments, as well as to the ongoing debate on the integration of technology with Neuropsychology.
