RESUMO:

This study it is to investigate the psychometric properties of the Stress at Work Scale (Paschoal & Tamayo, 2004) considering the context of embedded work in platforms of the Rio de Janeiro oil sector. It is known that the carioca market has a longstanding operation abroad and that the country has had an impact on the international market. Therefore, in view of the statement, this paper comes up with the analysis of an offshore work stress assessment instrument, since the category has some characteristics that are distinct from other organizations. For data analysis an exploratory characteristics approach was used in parallel with a psychological network analysis. And it resulted in an alternative structure that embraces the offshore sector, stemming from two factors: organizational support and work overload. What is found, however, is a reformulation of scale that is not represented as a reality of embedded work. Therefore, there are more studies to validate a scale that covers a category.
