Equine Assisted Therapy & Gestalt Therapy: Self narrative of a Psychologist
Equine Assisted Therapy. Gestalt therapy. Self-narrative.
This research aims to investigate the intertwining between Equine Assisted Therapy (TAE) and the fundamentals of Gestalt Therapy (GT), based on the analysis of the self-narrative of an expert psychologist in the area. Equine Assisted Therapy (EAT) has been developing in Brazil and worldwide, with its results recognized in the fields of education and health. However, there is a shortage in the specialized literature on the subject. Gestalt therapy (GT) values the holistic view of man and the perception and awareness of the current experience (here and now) with influence on self-regulation. Both proposals are based on interactional quality. The relationship created in EAT between the human being and the horse moves with the emotional, creating an affective bond so natural and intense, being one of the central points of psychotherapies, bringing countless benefits and generating great changes. A descriptive, qualitative research based on the narrative is proposed. Narrative is the expression of being in interaction, in different verbal and non-verbal modalities. In this sense, for data collection, reports / field diaries and photographs will be used. The thematic axis will be the professional experience in EAT. The analysis will be based on the Emancipatory Dialogic Narrative Analysis, focusing on interactions, and including the researcher's view of himself. It is expected to contribute to the advance in the area with the theoretical systematization resulting from the intertwining of theory and practice.
