SUMMARY:

This project aimed to verify how the technical work of professionals from a Specialized Reference Center for Social Assistance takes place in the work with family ties and family reintegration processes of institutionally sheltered children and adolescents, through the work of strengthening family ties in the Health Service. To understand such phenomena, a qualitative methodology was used, with semi-structured analysis based on the assumptions of the Bioecological Theory of Human Development and Content Analysis. The need to deepen the understanding of this process is sustained before the right provided by the Child and Adolescent Statute, in article 19, the right to family and community coexistence, and the primacy of children and adolescents returning to the family environment; but above all, in studies that point to the need for more research and interventions on the strengthening of bonds and family reintegration in the context of the Specialized Reference Center for Social Assistance. Professionals who worked or are working with this theme, in diferente Specialized Reference Centers for Social Assistance in the region close to the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro, participated in the research, namely, Seropédica, Nova Iguaçu and Mesquita. An Integrative Literature Review was also carried out in order to understand what has been published and developed in research on this topic today. For analysis and considerations, a triangulation of the methods used was made, and, as the results found, there was an understanding of the concept of the family bond and an ambiguity in the perception of techniques about what weakens the bonds, sometimes due to failure in public policies, now for the faults of the family itself. Therefore, many barriers are placed in the work of family reintegration, with many dysfunctional factors being perceived, such as lack of training, networking, minimum time to care for family ties, family adherence, lack of desire or knowledge of professionals, lack of basic resources. In cases where care was taken with bonds, there was also a good relationship between the technical team and little professional turnover. Still, a definition of family bond was defined, although there is a difference in reflection. As a result of this work, a training course was created to be offered to technicians of the equipment obtained.
