SUMMARY:

The present study is inserted in the context of military superior formation, but specifically in the formation of the Combatant Officer of the Brazilian Army, that occurs in 5 years, being the first in the Preparatory School of Army Cadets - EsPCEx (Campinas - SP) and the four years at the Military Academy of Agulhas Negras - AMAN (Resende - RJ). Accompanying the efforts that have been made by organizations in general, regardless of their size, or their characteristics, military organizations have sought to constantly update their staff, preparing them for the exercise of activities hitherto uncommon, such as operating in operations order guarantee, peace missions abroad and other attributions related to asymmetric conflicts. Specifically in the case of AMAN, teaching by skills was adopted since 2012. Thus, 19 soft skills are part of the training and can be differentiated in three dimensions: operational, managerial and relational. The development of such competencies is assessed as essential for adapting to military life and the performance of professional activities inherent to the Army officer. Thus, it is possible to affirm that those military personnel who have high levels of such competencies will also present indicators of well-being at work and in life in general, since they also have greater adaptation to the context. Thus, the present study aims to investigate the relationship between transversal skills and satisfaction with life and full awareness, in order to identify how these variables are related and can contribute to the success sought in the training of the combatant officer of the Army .
