SUMMARY:

This research is propositional, it does not present, therefore, sample data constituted through a didactic-pedagogical application in the classroom. It does, however, develop a product that can be developed in the future. The goal is, therefore, to create this product, called Didactic Circuit, for the study and use of the periphrasis ir + infinitivo, as a form of expression of the future time, by students of the 6th grade of Elementary School. It is based on the variable character of the use of this periphrase, which competes with the simple form of the future of the indicative. . Therefore, the methodological axis of the research is related to variationist theoretical-linguistic approaches: Weinreich, Labov, Herzog, (2006) [1968] and Bortoni-Ricardo (2004, 2005).  The work started from the analysis of these expressions in the ALPHA Collection of textbooks (2018), used in schools in the city of Rio de Janeiro. . It was noticed, in this analysis, that in the teaching of verbs there is no mention of the use of periphrases as an expression of futurity, although this form is widely used, even in contexts of more monitoring, as evidenced by studies such as Gibbon (2014). . In a second moment, school texts of students from classes prior to 2023 are randomly analyzed, not being the result of any specific sample. The intention was to verify how the expressions of the future are realized in these texts in order to obtain a knowledge, even if partial, of the real linguistic behavior of the students. . Several occurrences of this periphrasis were recorded, demonstrating the distance between what is presented by the books and the linguistic uses of the students, which justifies the initiative to create a differentiated didactic proposal for the theme. As a result, the main objective of this work is to contribute to the linguistic, textual and social awareness of the use of the future periphrastic by students, through a methodology that privileges activities that avoid scientificating the subject. In addition to this objective, two specific ones were outlined: 1) to create a circuit of activities that conjugates the interface between use and study of verbal forms that indicate posteriority, 2) promote possibilities of using these forms that start from the spontaneous orality of the student to the more monitored writing and orality. To achieve such actions, the research, in relation to the knowledge of these periphrases, relies on Vieira Machado (2004) and Gibbon (2014). With regard to the methodology of the circuit itself, we will take as support assumptions of the Collaborative Learning Approach (BEHERNS, 2004).
