SUMMARY:

This research aims to propose a didactic sequence for the teaching of argumentation based on the textual genres Open Letter and Podcast, for students of the 8th and 9th grades of the Elementary School of Youth and Adult Education (EJA). In addition, three specific objectives were outlined: 1) Explore the structure and social role of argumentatively based texts, such as the open letter and the podcast; 2) Propose activities aimed at the use of logical-semantic operators of argumentative nature and 3) lead students to produce a podcast, aimed at defending a point of view on the theme "The aesthetics of society corroborating for Structural Racism", with relevant public interest. The study is justified by the fact that a complex relationship has been identified between the teaching of mother tongue that has been carried out and the current demand of this teaching object in view of the profile of the target audience of EJA that goes through the low schooling, the current school gap, in addition to illiteracy or functional illiteracy that intensified during and after the pandemic period. Therefore, this research seeks, through the development of reader, writer, interpretive and reflective skills, to enable compatible actions between students and their social practices to make them co-responsible subjects for the construction and production of meanings, both in the school space and outside the school walls, providing a critical development necessary for a more participatory citizen action. The research is of a qualitative nature of the exploratory type, since it intends to offer subsidies to teachers of Portuguese language, especially those of EJA, a modality lacking in didactic material. The theoretical contribution is based on the view of some authors such as Martins (2006) and Lerner (2002) on the teaching of reading and writing, as well as Soares (2020), Rojo (2012) and Moura, Tinoco (2008) and Oliveira, Tinoco and Santos (2014) on literacy, multiliteracies and literacy projects in school, Marcushi (2001) on textual genre and textual type, especially argumentation, Koch and Elias (2016) on the use of logical-discursive operators and in the proposal of didactic sequence of Dolz, Noverraz and Schneuwly (2010). In addition, it is sought to seek support, also, in the guiding documents of basic education, as in the one defended by the Law of Guidelines and Bases (LDB) and the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) to assist the forwarding of this research. To this end, a didactic sequence was proposed with the development of some activities, from a generative theme, of reading, analysis and production of the Open Letter genre, as well as linguistic activities focused on the argumentative typology and its logical-semantic organizers, allied to the end production activities of the Podcast genre. It is expected with this proposal of SD to combine the teaching of the language with the teaching of an anti-racist education in the classes of 8th and 9th grade of Youth and Adult Education (EJA).
