The object of this research is the teaching of the epic genre, based on two official documents: the Matrix of Priority Contents for Primary Education, issued by the Municipal Department of Education of the Municipality of Nova Iguaçu, and the National Common Core Curriculum. The research is aimed at sixth-grade students, with the preparation of a pedagogical notebook, a sequence of activities - reading the epic “Odyssey” (2023), both in its classic format and in its retextualization in other genres, with the final proposal being the production of a text of the film script genre for a video using the stop-motion technique. The main objective of the research, therefore, is to work with the literary genre epic, retextualizing it in other genres, such as HQ and film script, thus broadening the student's literary literacy. As specific objectives, the aim is to lead the student to:a) develop autonomy when it comes to relating verbal text to non-verbal text, as a support for textual comprehension; b) identify orality marks and relate them to communicative situations in which these expressions may or may not be used, thus contributing to the linguistic development of each child in the school environment. c) Understand the selected textual genres in order to develop reading and writing skills; d) Produce texts through the process of retextualizing the epic genre into a film script. It is theoretically based on the studies of Marcuschi (2010), Dell'Issola (2007), Cosson (2021), Solé (2014), among other theorists. The research presented is a propositional bibliographical study, since it will not be applied, and thus has its starting point, then, from a teacher-researcher who wants to give new meaning to the reality of the students and the entire school Community.
