SUMMARY:

This action research aims to utilize Armandinho comic strips for pedagogical intervention in reading comprehension activities, with the general objective of promoting reading proficiency by fostering critical readers through reflections on the materials worked on, thereby creating space for students to exercise their protagonism as socially situated individuals. The specific objectives are: to analyze the information conveyed by verbal and non-verbal language; to infer information about the multimodal text by relating it to the student's prior knowledge of the theme; and to offer reading strategies so that the student can construct meanings at each stage. The theoretical foundation is primarily based on works by Angela Kleiman (2016 and 2022), Isabel Solé (1998), Koch and Elias (2022), and Ramos (2017). The applied methodology is based on Sousa, Richie, and Teixeira (2013).
