SUMMARY:

This work aims to propose investigative lines of analysis of literary texts of the genre short story, specifically in the subgenre fantastic tales of Brazilian authors, within the scope of reading and analysis of texts, through didactic mediations, to students of the 70 year of Elementary School. The promotion of new approaches adopted here was based on several theoretical studies by fantastic literary theorists such as Tzvetan Todorov, Irène Bessière, PG Castex, L. Vax, R. Caillouis among others, as well as the guidelines from New Criticism by John Crowen Ransom and the Russian Formalists for proposing a look focused exclusively on the interior of the works, disregarding extralinguistic aspects, namely historicisms, biographies, psychologisms and sociologisms of the Impressionist criticism in force in textbooks. Indeed, it enabled us to sample focused on structural elements combined with specific thematic content of fantastic texts.
