SUMMARY:

The present work aims to build a proposal for didactic materials that aim to contribute to the improvement of the reading skills of students of the Carioca I Project, of the public education network Municipal Secretary of Education (SME) of the City of Rio Janeiro (PCRJ), taking as its starting point, the linguistic category adjectives, in the textual genre strips. It specifically aims to: a) prepare a document with theoretical basis and research methodology; b) insert expectations of students' responses in the didactic material; c) insert in the material complementary orientations to the teacher; d) organize didactic activities that articulate language and discourse, with an emphasis on interpretation from the class of adjectives; e) contribute to the student's better understanding when reading comic strips and other multimodal texts. The theoretical basis of the studies brings together concepts developed in the area of Textual Linguistics, such as textual genre and multimodality, and still others with a cognitive basis, such as reading.
