SUMMARY:

This reading and rewriting project is based on an intervention proposal, based on the reading of the short story De cima para baixo (1885-1886), by Artur Azevedo, in which the subject positions and their imaginary formations are examined, as established in the theory of materialist Discourse Analysis, elaborated by Michel Pêcheux, in France (1969) and brought to Brazil by Professor Eni Orlandi (1983, 1988, 2000). With a focus on Youth and Adult Education (EJA) at the Escola Municipal Professora Irene da Silva Oliveira, located near the rural areas of the municipality of Nova Iguaçu - RJ, in Vila de Cava, the aim is to provide students with an experience of authorship, based on the study of subject positions, inscribed in a hierarchical work relationship, marked by order and obedience. Questioning these positions and assuming authorship of their own decisions involves a process of awareness, which can be developed through interpretation and comprehension activities, not only of the text, but also of the discourse. In order to analyze the conditions of production that govern today's society in the most diverse models of working relationships, from the formal to the informal, a corpus of varied materialities will be put together in order to subsequently establish a pedagogical archive (Indursky, 2019) together with the students of the final grades (phases VII and IX). The purpose of the archive is to sensitize students to the discursive practice of reading, to simulate the confrontation of different discursive formations in relation to discursive memory and to promote critical debate on the aspects and effects of neoliberalism (the current Brazilian socio-economic system). Providing students with a collection of images, song lyrics, newspaper reports, cartoons, films and other everyday textual forms could help them recognize some of the political strategies in which subjects submit to certain conditions of social contract. It is considered that seeking alternatives that can encourage students to become authors (Orlandi, 2000) will contribute to a citizen's education, one that makes them rethink “being on the margins”, or being on the margins of society. The justification for mobilizing some fundamental concepts of DA as devices for constructing reading and rewriting activities is to be found in the very social differences that separate the social classes of our country so much, a situation in which education, often considered an indispensable element for social transformation, is not properly valued. Thus, the didactic-pedagogical proposal will include different stages, including awareness-raising for the debate on the thematic section, the configuration of the pedagogical archive, with the short story De cima para baixo as the main text, and reading and rewriting activities that touch on the literary versus non-literary confrontation, the production of meanings and the development of authorship (Orlandi, - 2000, 2004).
