RESUMO:

For this research, difficulties were observed regarding some aspects of the reading and writing processes of students of the initial series of elementary education II of a public school in Rio de Janeiro. From this, a study was made of this problem and a study was carried out analyzing the extent to which the relationship between referencing and the identification and production of types of discourse - within narratives of the chronic genre with groups of 6 and 7 years - can influence the development of the communicative competence of these students. In addition, we intend to reflect on how students construct meanings through this association in texts in the Portuguese Language classroom. In our theoretical contribution, we highlight the studies on textual genres (BAKHTIN, 2003, MARCUSCHI, 2008 and 2010), chronic (SÁ, 1985, TUZINO, 2009) and reference processes (MONDADA and DUBOIS, 2003), among other scholars . The methodology is based on the research-action model (TRIPP, 2005) and didactic sequence (DOLZ, NOVERRAZ and SCHNEUWLY, 2013).
