SUMMARY:

This dissertation proposes a didactic circuit for teaching and learning coordinated sentences to be developed with seventh grade students from a public school in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The starting point is the description of this phenomenon presented by the textbook adopted by the mentioned institution and texts produced by the same students who will participate in the circuit. On the one hand, this procedure is due to the hypothesis that such a description ignores the effects of meaning generated by the coordination of sentences in texts from different discursive organizations, prioritizing the traditional approaches to teaching these sentences. On the other hand, it is due to the assumption that these elements, in these students' texts, generate fundamental meaning effects for their awareness of individuals  who belong in a society. In addition, it is assumed that they imprint in their Productions, oral coordination strategies that are very common in Brazilian spontaneous speaking. Thus, the idea is to get to know these two realities in order to create didactic activities that develop students' linguistic, social and discursive awareness so that, at the end of the circuit, they can recognize and use coordination strategies in both narrative and argumentative texts,  moving from more spontaneous speaking, passing through school literacy, to arrive at a more monitored writing and oral skills. As one of the motivational strategies for the circuit, we will use the book Quarto de Despejo, by Maria Carolina de Jesus, in addition to other textual experiences that reflect oral and writing skills. The main objective of the dissertation is, therefore, to contribute to the development of levels of awareness regarding the use of sentence coordination: linguistic, social and discursive. The qualification text is divided into five parts: 1) analysis of the textbook adopted by the school; 2) analysis of linguistic coordination in school texts; 3) theoretical assumptions about coordinated clauses; 4) methodological procedures used for the research and for the didactic circuit; 5) schedule of activities. As a theoretical reference, the research will be based on Koch (1984, 1987, 1989, 1992, 2002), Koch; Elias (2011). For methodological procedures, we will use the assumptions of action research (THIOLLENT, 1988). For those in the circuit, we will support the principles of collaborative learning (BEHRENS, 2013). In this way, it is expected that students feel challenged to solve problem-situations raised by reading and producing texts, autonomously articulating the coordinated sentences in their cohesive role in the school term.
