RESUMO:

This work has a guiding theme women´s empowerment through literature. The objects of study are literary and poetic texts which were taught to students of ninth grade of middle school from the municipal schools in Seropédica, Rio de Janeiro. Following the orientations of the public education network for the three last bimesters of the school year. José de Alencar´s novels: “Diva”, “Lucíola” and “Senhora” were chosen since they disclose strong feminine characters who faced the patriarchy, theme present in these books. Afterwards, to enhance the textual genre poem, the students Will do activities with lyrics of Rap and Funk songs and present their creations during an event at school. They will continue to use the central theme as a study focus throughout the school year.
