SUMMARY:

The reading activity assumes that the reader, based on social knowledge about the genders, identifies his need. This research has as general objective to develop a teaching proposal for reading texts of the news genre, through a didactic sequence that intends to expand its knowledge on the discursive functioning of these texts and offer conditions to solve possible reading difficulties related to the identification of the main fact. To achieve this purpose, the following specific objectives are designed: (1) assist the student in identifying the adverbial adjunct of time that is directly related to the identification of the new event and (2) assist the student in identifying the new event, the fact reported. Theoretical support from the fields of Textual Linguistics (MARCUSCHI, 2002; 2008) and Semiolinguistic Theory of Discourse Analysis (CHARAUDEAU, 1992; 2001; 2005; 2010) will be adopted. In addition to the methodological orientation proper to the theoretical foundations, which presuppose the construction of meanings in the interaction between subjects, the research will be conducted from the perspective of action research, since there is an intention to identify the problem and act with all involved so that a satisfactory result is reached. In this study, the form of data treatment will be qualitative. These will be produced through activities developed with students from a class of 7th grade of elementary school in a public school in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in the Sepetiba neighborhood.
