SUMMARY:

This work consists on a didactic mediation for teaching-learning to build characters in mystery tales, targeting students from the 9th grade at elementary school in a school in the city of Barra Mansa-RJ. It is assumed that, in this construction, students cognitively trigger linguistic and cultural knowledge, to which textual production strategies contribute significantly, resulting in a literary literacy process. Thus, the elements of language and culture must be dealt consciously. The main objective of this mediation was, therefore, to develop the student ability to interpret the extralinguistic reality in order to transform it, through literary aspects, into a narrative in which characters created linguistically and extralinguistically participate. More specifically, it aimed to: a) seek, through digital and physical resources, information about the creation of characters; b) create characters from tales with information about this narrative element, c) interact with teachers and colleagues, through digital resources, in search of this information, and finally, d) put into circulation, via social networks, inside and outside school, the short story produced. As a research methodology, we are guided by the guidelines of action research (THIOLLENT, 1988). As for mediation itself, we developed didactic activities within a collaborative bias (BEHRENS, 2013), preparing students for their participation in the social context. Regarding the theoretical aspects of the research topic, we have Khedé (1986), Gancho (1997), Marcuschi (2003), Gotlib (2006), Candido (2014), Charaudeau (2016) and BNCC (BRASIL, 2018). The results related to the application of the proposal showed negative and positive aspects. The negatives refer to the time allocated to the activities circuit, which proved to be extensive for the target audience. The positives are related to the organicity of the proposal, which resulted in tales of mystery, as expected.
