SUMMARY:

The present research/proposal seeks to reflect on and rethink the vision about the native people of our land, their culture, their beliefs and rites, their customs, their most varied languages. Aiming to comply with law 11,645, it also seeks to establish strategies and develop materials and tools that enable and facilitate the implementation of the law by the school, since, given the scarcity of material focused on the theme, the creation of a compendium that would provide Elementary Education teachers, as a priority, with materials that could promote knowledge about these people, their vast and varied culture and their contributions to the construction of what we have today as the Portuguese language in Brazil and, also, in the social legacy of them. In order to better understand the most varied materials researched, since much of what is related to these people is mainly linked to oral transmission, we used as a theoretical contribution Cândido's reflections on Literature and the right to Literature in order to understand and classify, in a satisfactory way, the most diverse contents available for the study. We also based the research on the definitions of Bakhtin and, similarly, of Marcuschi on analysis, production and specificities of the various textual genres with the purpose of scrutinizing a better understanding of the direction given to the proposal and the classification of the material to be studied. And last but not least, we organized a collection of legends, myths, varied stories and tales in different formats, including audio, video and also the written word to provide students and teachers with a collection that meets the needs mentioned above.
