RESUMO:

Soybean cultivation has great importance in the world economy, but weed interference can adversely affect its productivity. The use of pre-emergent herbicides has become a good tool for weed control, but its behavior in the environment is influenced by a variety of factors. The commercial mixture of the imazapyr + imazapic herbicides belongs to the chemical group of imidazolylones, and its dynamics can be influenced by several factors of the environment, the soil and the physicochemical characteristics of the molecule, mainly by the moisture content of the medium, which directly affects its degradation and leaching. The use of this herbicide in soybean may cause problems in subsequent crops, a phenomenon known as carryover. The objective of this work was to evaluate the leaching and residual activity of the commercial mixture of the herbicides imazapyr + imazapic in different water content in the soil for the corn crop in succession to the soybean. The experiment was developed at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro, Seropédica / RJ. In the assembly of the experiment leaching columns, made of PVC, were arranged vertically. In order to evaluate the influence of water availability, treatments were arranged in a 3x3 factorial scheme, with factor A being the irrigation (water volume corresponding to 30% above the field capacity, at the field capacity and 30% below of field capacity) and factor B the doses of the commercial mixture of the herbicides imazapir + imazapic 52.5 + 17.5 and 105 + 35 g ha-1, besides the control (without herbicide). The design was in generalized blocks with 4 replicates, totaling 36 experimental units. After 120 days of seeding, the columns were opened vertically. In the middle of the channels of each treatment, the corn crop (Zea mays) was sown and in the other half the watermelon was bioindicated plant. Soybean plants were not reduced in the presence of the commercial mixture of the herbicides imazapyr + imazapic in the soil, but the lower availability of water negatively affected the plants, reducing the mass and causing injuries to the photosynthetic apparatus. The corn crop did not undergo the carryover effect of the commercial mixture of the herbicides imazapyr + imazapic when sown in soybean succession. The bioindicator specie suffered severe reductions in mass and injuries to the photosynthetic apparatus in the presence of the commercial mixture of the herbicide imapapyr + imazapic in the soil. The water content in the soil influenced the mobility of the herbicide, presenting soil leaching with a higher moisture content.
