SUMMARY:

Wastewater treatment, particularly from the dairy and fertilizer industries, has gained relevance due to the growing agro-industrial demand and environmental risks related to inappropriate disposal. These effluents contain high concentrations of organic compounds, heavy metals, phosphorus and nitrogen, which can cause water pollution and eutrophication. Biological methods, such as the use of microalgae, stand out for their efficiency in removing nutrients and generating reusable biomass, while ozonation complements the process by degrading recalcitrant organic compounds and eliminating microorganisms. This study explores the combination of these technologies as an innovative solution to reduce environmental impacts and add value with the production of bioproducts.
