SUMMARY:

The oil industry from the drilling of oil wells generates residues that, when improperly disposed, cause environmental problems. Among the other residues, drilling gravel stands out, a material basically composed of crushed rock and drilling fluid. In recent decades, studies have been carried out in order to solve problems related to the deposition of gravel in the soil. Such residue has in its composition a series of heavy metals, salinity and compounds derived from petroleum. Thus, it becomes necessary technological routes to enable the use of gravel, promoting an environmentally correct end to this. The project's proposal will be to evaluate the use of marine drilling gravel from pre-salt and post-salt oil wells as a soil conditioner or fertilizer in agriculture. The leaching tests will be conducted at the Laboratory of Soil and Plant Relations, located in the Soil Department of the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ). The experimental design will be completely randomized, presenting treatments with zero dose (0) plus five (5) combinations to be defined. The intermediate dose will be equivalent to 40 Mg ha-1, based on previous studies by the team with terrestrial gravel. The drilling residue will be applied to the collected soil, being stored in leaching columns. The percolated water generated by the application of the blades, will be quantified, with the purpose of evaluating pH, micronutrients and heavy metals. In the statistical analysis, we intend to use the statistical programs R. It is expected as a result, to find the best dose to be applied of pre-salt and post-salt oil drilling gravel, so that its use reduces the impacts generated by oil activity. From there, make it possible to use it as a soil conditioner or fertilizer for use in agriculture.
