SUMMARY:

The advance in the treatment of domestic effluents with optimized initiatives, which reflect in low impact is an alternative to be explored. The conceptions of the Sewage Treatment Stations (ETE) with the use of the cultivation of macrophytic vegetations submitted to the control and monitoring, defined as constructed wetlands, propose efficiency in what refers to the removal of contaminants, with emphasis on the retention of nutrients such as the concentrations of nitrogen and phosphorus. The model promotes, in an assisted way, ecological integration, in the composition of the soil and the plant substrate, highlighting the macrophyte classes, restriction to the Brazilian Papyrus (Cyperus giganteus) and Chinese Umbrella (Cyperus alternifolius) species. In the chain of control, in particular the capacity to absorb loads present in raw sewage, defines elements to be assisted in the development of sections of built wetlands. However, it is limiting to performance, through the requirement of area extensions through load variations and seasonality impacts, which reflect on the restriction of nutrient retention efficiency. In this opportunity, the dosage accompanied by Lithothamnium Calcareum can be established as a potential to be evaluated, with the aim of enhancing the removal of nutrients present in the domestic effluents, submitted to the built wetland tanks, inserted in the active treatment complex, in this case the ETE Ponte dos Milk, due to the inhibition of the eutrophication processes of water bodies.
