SOIL AGGREGATION AND CARBON AND NITROGEN STOCKS IN DIFFERENT AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION SYSTEMS AND IN NATIVE VEGETATION IN THE CERRADO
Protocolo MRV. Carbono Orgânico Particulado (COP). Carbono Orgânico Associado aos Minerais (COAM). Matéria Orgânica.
Soil organic matter (SOM) is a key component for maintaining soil quality and sustainability, being significantly affected by inadequate land use and intensive management practices. The objective of this work is to evaluate the stocks of organic C and N in the soil and in the organic fractions in soils of the Cerrado biome. The study will be conducted at Fazenda Estrela do Lamarão, in the municipality of Unaí-MG. Deformed and undisturbed earth samples will be collected at depths 0-5, 5-10, 10-20, 20-30, 30-40, 40-60, 60-80 and 80-100 cm. C and N stocks will be calculated in the 0-10, 0-30 and 0-100 cm soil layers. The experiment will be in randomized block design (DBC), with four replications. The separation of particulate organic carbon (COP) and mineral-associated organic carbon (COAM) fractions will be made. It is expected to contribute with results on the monitoring of carbon in Cerrado soil, with the possibility of indicating the COP fraction as a sensitive indicator of C in the soil. It is also expected to contribute to the development of a Measurement, Report and Verification (MRV) protocol for changes in carbon in the soil, in order to enable the land sampling process that is more economical, faster and more accurate.
