RESUMO:

Evapotranspiration is an essential component of the hydrologic balance and is defined as the amount of water transferred to the atmosphere through the processes of evaporation of free water and transpiration of plants. Evapotranspiration presents itself as important information in different stages of the planning and management of projects related to the use of water resources. The objective of the present study is to assess estimates of the actual evapotranspiration of pastureland using the SEBAL algorithm and images of the OLI (Operational Land Image) and TIRS (Thermal Infrared Sensor) sensors on the Landsat-8 satellite in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro state. The specific objectives are: i) to identify the relationship between data estimated by orbital images and the observations obtained by a micrometeorological station, ii) besides verifying to what extent it is possible to associate the use and occupation of the soil with the determined values of evapotranspiration. The research will be validated by statistical inference and geoprocessing tools, in order to extract information for analysis and elaboration of maps that will identify the space-time behavior of evapotranspiration in the study area. Finally, it is worth emphasizing the importance of estimating evapotranspiration in the regional and global climate dynamics and in the contribution in agri-environmental studies in places where the availability of meteorological data is a limiting factor.
