SUMMARY:

Beer is one of the most popular and consumed beverages in Brazil. The production of this drink in Brazil has been growing over the years, not only due to the large industries that manufacture the product, but also to small artisan producers. Due to the increase in production, there is also an increase in the waste generated in this manufacture, with this, many of these wastes are discarded by industries, often incorrectly, causing impacts on the environment. Brewery residues can be used as raw material for various products, including fertilizers. The use of brewery residues in development is promising, as its use as a raw material meets the requirements for sustainable disposal in accordance with current legislation and favors the recycling of nutrients for production systems. Organomineral fertilizers produced from brewery waste and different sources of phosphorus will be produced at the Fertilizer Technology Laboratory, Embrapa Solos - RJ. Fertilizer evaluation will be conducted under laboratory conditions to assess nutrient release compared to traditional fertilizers. With the results obtained, it is intended to validate the use of organomineral fertilizers produced from brewery residues, as well as the assessment of nutrient release in the soil, the production of dry matter of maize in pots and also complement the request for intellectual protection of the organomineral fertilizer produced from brewery waste.
