Anti-racist. Law 10.639. SANKOFA
This paper will address the project SANKOFA - Cultural environment of African Brazilian History inside the public school Professora Iramar da Costa Lima Miguel. The main proposal is the collaborative work development with all school community where the project it’s being considerate aiming that teachers, students, families and the employers of the school are primordial agents on the fight for racial equality.
As a methodological procedure, we are going to use quantitative and qualitative research referring to the racial self-declarations,reflecting the racial identity in a brazilian historical context, thinking about the needs and the absence of a loyal application of the law 10.639, being essential for the achievement of a public politics that fights against racism. From this research, we are going to develop together the Sankofa, that has an important support and action to apply the real practice of the law 10.639, developing possibilities of awareness in the school community. In that matter, the teacher’s education should be emphasized for them to be ready to apply an anti- racist content in the classroom and help the school to provide materials that contains the African Brazilian History in each possible discipline, offering lectures, creating an environment that offers projects that encourages the knowledge of African culture in people's lives. There is a famous brazilian say that tells ‘’Àgua mole em pedra dura, tanto bate até que fura’’, and it’s exactly what we propose, persist in the right application of the law 10.639 in a daily basis, creating an effective system inside the school. We can’t accomplish the law only in November because the racial equality is a daily struggle!
