RESUMO:

Historically, the black population was never part of the nation-plans devised and implemented by Brazilian thinkers and politicians1 (perhaps even more notably in the republican period than during the Empire, although ironically the slave regime persisted until its final sighs). )2. The project of population laundering implemented by the Brazilian state during the first half of the twentieth century caused the imposition of major obstacles to the social inclusion of the black population due to its economic aspect - with the offer of better employment conditions and access to state benefits protected by European immigrants3 - as for the social and cultural aspect, in relegating the black race for understanding it as a factor behind the social, cultural and even human development of the Brazilian people.
