ROSA DA FONSECA MUNICIPAL SCHOOL AS A STRATEGY FOR HERITAGE EDUCATION

The objective of this work is to build a proposal for didactic material on heritage based on Célestin Freinet's idea of a class-tour, using the Rosa da Fonseca Municipal School and its surroundings as a strategy. The research proposes to discuss with students the concepts of memory/historical forgetting, from the dimension of Local History and from the perspective of Heritage Education, knowing that these result from social processes, which involve disputes and silencing, seeking together with the know the origin of the Rosa da Fonseca Municipal School and its insertion within the Vila Militar district. The methodology used in addition to the bibliographical survey is the construction with the students of a didactic experience (class-tour), based on the theoretical thinking of Célestin Freinet, using the physical space of the school and its surroundings, product of the Professional Master's Degree in History Teaching. Knowing that historical knowledge can occur in different spaces of memory. a class-tour in environments such as Hermes da Fonseca Square, the Old Vila Militar Railway Station, the Sampaio Cultural Military Regiment Space, the General Lyra Tavares Physical Rehabilitation Center , the Officers Improvement School , among others, they are very rich experiences for both students and teachers who take on the challenge.
