SUMMARY:

The teachings of the traditional child education of the Fon people are the object of this work. The main objective of this research is to present these teachings as important tools for the study and teaching of African history in the Brazilian diaspora, based on Law 10.639 / 2003. We adopt a methodological approach that includes elements of phenomenology, inductive and comparative reasoning. Our main sources about the Fon people and the ancient Kingdom of Daxomé are Dominique Fadaïro (2001), Sena Annick Abiou (2016) and Aboubakar Traore (2020). Regarding the theoretical frameworks on African traditions and families come from Amadou Hampatê Bá (2010); Aliu Babatunde Fafunwa (1977); Michael. B. Adeyemi and Augustus A. Adeyinka (2003); Yaw Oheneba-Sakyi and Baffour K. Takyi (2006). In the process of understanding, contextualizing and debating Law 10,639 / 2003 and its potential, the following researches were (re) visited: Kabengele Munanga (2005); Nilma Lino Gomes (2017); Geny Ferreira Guimarães (2014). Regarding access to the ideas / concepts of Afrocentricity comes with Molefi Asante (1991). We achieved two results: 1 - to encourage curricular practices focused on teaching and studying the History of Africa and the African peoples; 2 - produce a text material (digital book) with part of the collected information, destined to the extra-university public, with special attention to the Afro-Brazilian family.
