Case study about the Amuliberdade Association in Colniza, MT
Agroecology, women, participatory methodologies
This research investigates the work of the Pastoral Land Commission (CPT) in the municipality of Colniza, in the northwest region of Mato Grosso, with a specific focus on the Associação de Mulheres Rurais Liberdade - Amuliberdade. The region is marked by challenges such as illegal mining, deforestation, extensive livestock farming and monocultures. It is in this context that CPT works to support family farming. The present study seeks to investigate the impact of CPT's actions on the evolution of agroecology within the Amuliberdade Association, given the socioeconomic profile of the women involved, as well as the effects of agroecological practices on their lives. Using participatory methodologies, the research connects scientific knowledge to popular knowledge, engaging women from Associação Amuliberdade and other members of the local community. The qualitative-quantitative approach includes semi-structured interviews with members and observations of their daily lives, with the aim of strengthening the role of these women in overcoming the daily challenges they face and promoting agroecology in family farming.
