SUMMARY:

This work proposes the development of an intelligent irrigation system for agricultural systems, using microcontrollers. The system will be equipped with edaphoclimatic sensors to collect data on soil temperature and humidity. This information will be used to automatically trigger irrigation pumps, optimizing water use and considering the physiological and water needs of plants. The impact of this system is significant: Environmentally, it contributes to the reduction of water waste and promotes sustainability. Economically, more efficient irrigation can result in higher agricultural production and, consequently, higher profits. Socially, it can contribute to the food security of the Brazilian population. The applicability of the system is high, as it can be easily employed in different environments and social groups. It can be used in open, closed or protected environments, making it versatile and widely applicable. It is innovative, as it uses unprecedented knowledge in the creation of the product. Although it is an existing technology, the way it is programmed and used in this context is unique. The complexity of the product is evident in the significant interaction between various actors, relationships and knowledge. This includes the technical knowledge needed to program the Arduino, understanding the soil and climate conditions necessary for efficient irrigation, and the ability to assemble and test the system. The expected results of this academic work are: Improvement in irrigation efficiency and efficient programming of the microcontroller. In addition, it is expected that the system will undergo a series of tests to ensure its efficiency and effectiveness. In the end, a technical/technological product will be developed that will have a significant impact on the irrigated agriculture sector.
