Influence of mixed cover crops and organic fertilizer cultivation in an ecologically-based carrot production system
green manure; organic carrot; organic fertilization; agroecologyThe project proposes to evaluate the contribution of the use of winter and summer green manure species combined with different doses of organic manure in the production of carrots in an agroecological system under the cultivation conditions of Sítio A Boa Terra, Itobi, SP. The work will be divided into 2 stages involving the sowing, in the same area, of a mixture of winter cover crops followed by organic fertilization with different dosages of stabilized corral manure and subsequent carrot cultivation, after harvesting a new seeding will be made with summer species and after incorporation of a new carrot crop to evaluate the residual effect and improvement of production variables. The carrot cultivar used in this experiment will be the Planalto variety. The design will be in randomized blocks and treatments will be arranged in split plots. The evaluations will consist of the aboveground biomass analysis created by the cover species in the two stages and analysis of essential macronutrients. The phytotechnical parameters of carrots will be evaluated as fresh matter (FM) and dry matter (DM) of shoots and roots and root characterization, according to diameter, average length and yield as well as macronutrient analysis. Expected to reach with this work the determination of the most efficient level for the dosages of organic fertilization in similar conditions and that used in an area where there is cycling with the cultivation of mixtures of cover species provide a great agro-economic yield of the carrot in the agroecological production.
