SUMMARY:

The growing concern about the consumption of healthier agricultural foods has increasingly stimulated the population's demand for foods with higher nutritional quality. Among these, organic foods deserve to be highlighted. The production of microgreens presents itself as an alternative to meet this new consumer profile, primarily due to the ease of production without the need for pesticides and the nutritional contribution of vitamins and minerals for human consumption. Since its organic cultivation depends on fertilizers, producing substrates that meet the current legislation on organics, contributes as a strategy for the producer who seeks self-sufficiency. The objective of this work is to evaluate the preparation of substrates from the mixture of vermiculite, perlite and sphagno peat in proportions of 25%, 50% and 75% with compost produced from gliricidia pruning and sawdust. The compost production will take place in a windrow with dimensions of 2 x 1.20 x 0.80 m and the agronomic performance of the substrates produced will be evaluated through the cultivation of the species Brassica oleracea var. capitata f. rubra in 10 treatments with a 3:3 factorial scheme in a completely randomized design. It is expected with the present work to elaborate an agricultural process related to the production of substrate for the cultivation of microgreens under organic management, contributing to the development of the productive chain of microgreens in accordance with the guiding normative instructions determined by the current legislation of organic production.
