SUMMARY:

Regenerative agriculture has emerged as a strategic approach to reconciling
agricultural productivity, environmental conservation, and socioeconomic resilience. However, the
lack of a set of scientifically robust indicators adapted to tropical systems
limits the measurement and comparison of the impacts of these practices. This study
aims to identify, evaluate, and prioritize ecological, agronomic, and
economic indicators applicable to the regenerative transition in Brazil. The research will be conducted in
four main stages: (i) a systematic review of the scientific literature, searching indexed
databases and initially classifying the indicators by dimension (ecological, economic,
agronomic, and social); (ii) a documentary analysis of national and
international institutional frameworks, extracting and comparing the indicators used; (iii) a multi-criteria
evaluation, using criteria such as scientific basis, applicability, cost, and scalability,
with Likert-based scoring; and (iv) participatory validation using the Delphi method,
with an expert panel composed of researchers, technicians, farmers, and
representatives of non-governmental organizations. The integration of quantitative
and qualitative evidence will result in the proposal of an indicator matrix adapted to the
Brazilian context, containing operational definitions, measurement methods, recommended
frequency, and usage guidelines. The research will result in the preparation of a scientific article
to be submitted to a journal of national or international relevance, aiming to disseminate the
results among the academic and professional community, and a technical report containing the
indicator matrix. This work is expected to contribute to the standardization and
practical application of metrics in regenerative agriculture, supporting monitoring,
certification, and public policymaking for the regenerative transition aligned with the
UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
