RESUMO:

The growing urbanization process has brought increasing pressure on infrastructure, natural resources and a number of other factors relevant to the quality of life in cities. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the UN has predicted seventeen objectives, one of them being specifically linked to the urban question, namely, objective 11 (Cities and Sustainable Communities). Many authors have pointed to agroecological-based urban agriculture as an alternative to make cities more productive, inclusive and sustainable. The present study will be carried out in the city of Campos dos Goytacazes, located in the north of the state of Rio de Janeiro. In the municipality is developed since 1990 the Community Horta Community Program, focused on urban agriculture. Over the years, the program has undergone several phases and has recently undergone a significant reduction in the number of participants. The present work seeks to make feasible the presentation of basis proposals for future collective construction of public policies that will strengthen sustainable urban agriculture in the city of Campos dos Goytacazes / RJ. The study will be carried out through: 1) Qualitative Systematic Bibliographic Review, in the metaassynthesis model in order to understand how urban agriculture can contribute to the sustainability of cities; 2) Study of the docosa of Campos dos Goytacazes / RJ by means of documentary research and semi-structured interviews and 3) Elaboration of basic proposals for future collective construction of public policies aimed at the sustainable management of Campos dos Goytacazes / RJ, with urban agriculture as an integrating tool.
