SUMMARY:

Brazilian biodiversity is one of the richest in the world and part of this biodiversity has been lost in recent years, mainly to make way for monoculture fields and pastures, as well as for tourism and various other activities practiced by man. These plant species, in many cases, guarantee the food sovereignty of traditional populations and communities, as well as guaranteeing their nutritional security. These plants, in addition to the food function, also provide various environmental services for communities, the environment, other plants and animals, these services that plants provide are called ecosystem services. In the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, the communities own the knowledge of the PANC in the region, as well as their reproduction and propagation. With tourism growing in these towns, the advent of three-phase energy, the large circulation of tourists from different cultures and places made eating habits change in different generations. Therefore, this work aims to evaluate the PANC community that occurs in Lençóis Maranhenses National Park and its role in the generation of ecosystem services and the influence of tourism on eating habits in communities in the region. The study will be carried out in the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, more specifically in the communities of Santo Inácio and Ponta do Mangue, municipality of Barreirinhas - MA. A qualitative and quantitative research will be carried out with 10 families from each community (Santo Inácio and Ponta do Mangue) carrying out the following steps: Ethnobotanical survey of the PANC; Use of PANC, ways of obtaining and establishing an evolutionary line of eating habits; Evaluate through a bibliographic survey the potential of the PANC species found; Describe the communities studied in relation to their involvement with tourism; With the execution of this project and from the adopted methodology, it is expected to reach the general objective of the research and to contribute with future scientific publications that serve as a basis for future projects and as well as to better understand the communities, the food plants and their relationship with the tourism.
