SUMMARY:

This project will be developed in the municipality of Angra dos Reis, located in the Costa Verde region of the state of Rio de Janeiro. The general objective will be to evaluate the limits and potentialities of the associations in promoting the inclusion and sense of belonging of farmers in Angra dos Reis-RJ. An exploratory case study will be carried out from October 2024 to September 2025 and will have a qualitative and quantitative approach. The data collection techniques will be documentary research, semi-structured dialogue and participant observation. As research instruments, dialogue scripts, documentary historical survey and Timeline associated with the Community History Graph will be used. Individual dialogues will be held with members of the Association of Rural Producers of Vale Mambucaba, former members and farmers who have never been part of the association, using a semi-structured script. The data collection techniques will be documentary research, semi-structured dialogue and participant observation. As research instruments, dialogue scripts, documentary historical survey and Timeline associated with the Community History Graph will be used. Individual dialogues will be held with members of the Association of Rural Producers of Vale Mambucaba, former members and farmers who have never been part of the association, using a semi-structured script. Dynamics will be carried out to build a Timeline and Historical Graph of the Community with the participation of the various social actors, members or not of the Association. Documents from the Association of Rural Producers of the Mambucaba Valley will be analyzed, such as minutes of meetings, official letters, among others that may be necessary, as well as documentary research will also be carried out in the archives of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries of the Municipality of Angra dos Reis. The study will be submitted to the Research Ethics Committee. The results of this research will be shared by the author to those responsible for the municipal government that elaborate public policies related to rural development, to the leaders and members of the Association and to the farmers of the Association who are not part of the corporate framework who are interested in the content. The technical product of the research carried out will be the realization of an event, in a format to be discussed with APRVM members and individual farmers, whose theme will be associativism and the empowerment of social actors in rural communities. It is hoped that this work will contribute to the encouragement among family farmers of actions that promote the creation of social capital, the stimulus to participation in the processes of construction of public policies, empowerment and a sense of belonging.
