From the 1950s onwards, there was a great rural exodus in Brazil, driven by the development and modernization of the country's major capitals and the creation of Brasília. Where these hitherto farmers became cheap labor to carry out activities necessary for the implementation of these new urban systems. Even so, territories with a history of land use for agricultural activities prevailed where they never completely lost their character, even with urban expansion, such as Colônia Juliano Moreira and Guaratiba where there are experiences of urban agriculture in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro. January. The present work aims to understand the origin of these urban farmers and their traditions of cultivation and consumption of spontaneous wild plants, as well as how this has changed over time and influenced crops. Another point explored concerns the opportunity to diversify agrifood systems with wild plants traditionally consumed / grown in the region and whether they manage to improve the ecosystem service of regulation: pollination. The methodology used will be a bibliographic review on the subject, semi-structured interviews in order to listen to the Life Story of these actors, paying attention to their consumption and cultivation. In addition, another methodology that can encompass the second objective referring to the ecosystem service will be sampling of flying arthropods in productive systems that have and do not have such plants, a statistical analysis of these data will be made having their processing in the R program and creation of maps in ArcGis for understand the composition of the landscape. Finally, it is expected to have an answer when there was a change in the diet of these people and what motivated this. And if, the increase in the presence of these process catalyzing insects due to the insertion of these wild plants also represents an increase in production and in the listed ecosystem service. A bibliographic product will be elaborated from this work.
