SUMMARY:

The objective of this project is to evaluate the development and production of different species of Pitaieiras, being tutored in Gliricídia cuttings, receiving different fertilization treatments. With the limited availability of bibliographic materials and research related to this culture in the country, this experiment was installed at UFRRJ to research and disseminate the results to rural producers and the scientific community interested in the topic. There will be 2 experiments, the main one with the red purple pulp Pitaia (Selenicereus Costaricencis) 5 treatments will be used, namely: 8l of manure, 5, 10 and 15l of Bokashi, and witness. In the second experiment with the other cultivars in the area Pitaia Baby tasty (Hylocereus setaceus), Red white-fleshed Pitaia (Selenicereus undatus), Pitaia Golden from Israel (Hylocereus megalanthus x Hylocereus undatus) and Pitaia Desert king (Hylocereus megalanthus x Hylocereus sp) only manure treatment is used due to the smaller number of plants and the greater availability of this input in the place, having as an experiment the comparison of the different cultivars that will receive the manure. An economic analysis of the activity should also be carried out using live tutors instead of cement or wood tutors as is commonly used by farmers. At the end of the experiments, two scientific articles will be written for publication, and possibly a technical product such as a production booklet so that new producers can include the production of Pitaias in their activities in a sustainable manner, thus popularizing this functional fruit that is so rich in nutrition.
