SUMMARY:

Agriculture currently practiced in the tropics has caused environmental degradation in many ways. The reduced offer of Technical Assistance and Rural Extension institutions with an agro-ecological approach has left farmers without technical support for the ecological management of the soil. The Participatory Conformity Assessment Povos da Mata Agroecology Network has played a key role in the lives of 850 families in the State of Bahia. Through the peer visit tool, they have ensured exchanges of experiences, maintaining and exchanging knowledge of agroecologically based agricultural techniques. The objective of this work is to evaluate, through a semi-structured questionnaire and application of a rapid assessment system of soil quality and crop health, what is the impact of soil management actions on the reality of farmers and their potential improvement in the conditions of agroecosystems, pointing out strategies to optimize them. It is intended to have an overview of the analyzed production units and the possible interventions to be made. It is expected, at the end of this dissertation, to present at least one event in order to disseminate the results and discussions built during the study, where the farmers who participated in the research, other farmers and technicians belonging to the Povos da Mata Agroecology Network are present.
