SUMMARY:

The National School Feeding Program (PNAE) aims to contribute to the growth and
biopsychosocial development, learning, school performance, and formation of healthy eating
habits among students through food and nutrition education initiatives and the provision of
meals that meet their nutritional needs during the school year. Law No. 11,947/2009
establishes that at least 30% of the funds transferred by the National Fund for Education Development (FNDE) for the purchase of school meals must come from family farms at the municipal, state, and federal levels. However, most of the school entities that are entitled to this resource have had difficulties in meeting this minimum desired percentage, facing several challenges. The studyt aims to systematize actions for interaction between family farmers and PNAE implementing entities through rural extension in the region of Ponte Nova, Minas Gerais. The actions will be described for the period from February 2025 to December 2025, in 27 municipalities in the region. The systematization will be presented in the form of an experience report that will follow the guidelines proposed by MUSSI (2021). The expected outcome is the presentation of an action protocol based on the principle of dialogue and integration between the school community, implementing entities, ater services, family farmers, and that serves as a model for the implementation of the PNAE with a view to sustaining and evolving the program; higher quality and safety of the products offered; greater variety of products; fair purchasing practices; improvement of marketing processes; introduction of new foods; and reduction of unsuccessful public calls for bids.
